THE SILENT FAMILY:

Child sexual abuse is indeed the perfect crime, as it always comes down to the adult’s word against the child’s. Prosecutors may look for witnesses or corroborating evidence, but molesters do not perpetrate in front of other people. It’s an intimate, one-on-one crime in which the perpetrator’s credibility always outweighs the victim’s.

THE NON-OFFENDING PARENT:

The real “fact” of the matter is that most non-offending parents who make these accusations are horrified and trepid, not malicious or spiteful.

What’s more, the child sexual abuse issue is not commonly raised as the reason for divorce.

COMBATING PARENTAL ALIENATION SYNDROME:

If you have been accused of parental alienation syndrome, do your research. If your attorney is not educated about Richard Gardner, educate him/her. Read Gardner’s books and research the trials in which he testified as an expert witness. Have your lawyer prepare the negative information about Gardner – there is plenty of it available – and present it to the judge.

ADULT SURVIVORS:

Healing and moving on is the best revenge, and talking about it is still the best way to start that healing process. The younger any survivor can begin dealing with the abuse he or she suffered, the longer he will have to lead a full, happy life. Healing may be a lifetime journey, but it does not have to be all sadness and trauma.

WHO MOLESTS CHILDREN?:

For many years, most people’s impression of a child molester was a man in an over-sized raincoat that flashed children in the school-yard. While such exhibitionists still exist, research and expanded knowledge have revealed that child molesters are found in all shapes, sizes, professions, religious affiliations, parents, extended family members and even clergy.

THE FEMALE MOLESTER:

We have no hard statistics on how many women sexually abuse children, but scattered studies indicate that one in every thirty-five child-sexual abuse incidents involved a female perpetrator.

PEDOPHILIA – AN ALTERNATE LIFESTYLE:

Since 1993, I have been telling colleagues and friends that the movement to make pedophilia an alternate lifestyle is upon us. They have uniformly reacted with vehement denial and outrage, assuring me that good folks would never let this happen.

Well, good folks, you had better become pro-activists and advocates for child victims of sexual abuse, because it is already happening.

PREVENTION, PART I:

Most of us teach our children to be polite to adults, and it is important to have nice manners. However, you need to teach your children that not all adults are nice people. If an adult makes them feel “icky” or “uncomfortable”, they need to tell you.

PREVENTION, PART II:

Child Beauty Contests and Other Events

Playgrounds, Fairs, Carnivals, Amusement Parks

Shopping Malls

Youth Organizations
